Biography for Jaime I. Gonzalez

Jaime I. Gonzalez was born in San Francisco, California on November 25th 1982. He is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz, with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Digital Media. He also works in still photography, acting and playwriting. His photography work has been exhibited in art shows around Santa Cruz.

He has worked as a cinematographer and screenwriter for Alexandra Pelosi, of HBO's Travels with George fame. In Honor, his first venture into documentary work chronicled the sudden loss of Congressman Robert A. Matsui as well as the succession of his wife Doris. The short film garnered a significant amount of acclaim, both in Sacramento and in the Bay Area.

In San Francisco, Jaime was raised in a highly political environment. His father Jim Gonzalez was on the Board of Supervisors for six years and his mother had been an activist for the rights of the migrant farm workers.

Jaime has lived in Madrid and studied international film and political institutions. When he returned to Sacramento he signed up for relief work in Louisiana to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The filmmaker's most recent work, The American Outsourcing Epidemic, features important political figures and labor leaders and addresses the issues of outsourcing and national security in a fast paced innovative style never presented in this genre.
